G+G: Let's Watch It Burn by ~grungepuppy "I think the artist shows a very nice coloring technique and unique style used in this picture. It's also great to see a new creative spin on the design of the ever popular anthro canine." (Suggested by ~hoodlumd and Featured by ^Katmomma)

You're one of the few people that draw anthro canines I actually like.
:icondogisdead:
The paintbrushy one :0 Do you play with opacity or something? Whenever I lower opacity it ends up looking like I'm using markers or something, and I can't see a flow option or anything anywhere >: I have yet to fully understand Sai.
:icongrungepuppy:
first, i'm using the english pack version of paint tool sai (it makes a difference as i think who ever made this version added special brushes and textures to it that sai didn't have before).

second, that whole background is done on one layer. if you try to paint on a new layer with no background or paint down it doesn't flow or blend the way it should. that's why all my colors with shading and highlights included are done on one layer.

third, here are the settings i usually use for that brush: [link]
for a creamier, more subtle blending, i raise the settings on blending/dilution/persistence. i don't usually touch density (which is kind of like opacity for the brush) and instead let the bending and such do the work.

hope that helps!

Oh wow, yeah, that helps a lot :0 Thanks for the help! And did you buy your version? And if so, from the official site?

Again, thanks for the help! : D

I love how you use color compliments of green and red. They really make the characters stand out against the background.
